More Details:
Sean, the irish miner, and Caine come across a woman's ranch, where they help build a well for her. Some local 'scallywags' who they encountered earlier later identify Caine as a wanted man and return to collect the reward.

"The hands. . . are the eyes and tongue of touch. Through them a man may reach out and see another's feelings or speak his own." - Master Po
"Is it not sad, Master, that the hands of a man may strike a blow as well as caress?" - Caine
"Pain and pleasure are like two bells, side by side, and the voice of each makes a trembling in the other." - Po
"Are pain and pleasure then so alike?" - Caine
"Are the eyes and tongue alike. We see the butterfly and an ugly wound. The same tongue which screams also laughs." - Master Po

Cast notes:

continuity mishap:
Caine is told to go down the well (he is standing next to it) to fetch the cat and it appears to be midday, but in the next scene as he retrieves the cat it is obviously night time.

  The veggiedude comment...
veggiedude.jpgCaine and his new Irish friend, with their combined experience, save the life of a horse about to give birth. The woman had written the horse off as dead, as the delivery was considered too dangerous for the horse to give birth.

Throughout the series, Caine's natural ability to communicate with animals (especially with horses) by using his hands is conveyed in many episodes.
