More Details:
In this episode, Caine is adopted (as a son) by an old and wise Indian Chief, and made his heir. The name he gives to Caine is "long drink of silence."

Deja Vu: When Caine is asked where he came from he explains that he walked a long way by foot. The man behind the bar laughs, not believing this could be true. This opening is very similar to the first scene in the Pilot film. Coincidentally (or not), the man behind the bar was played by the same actor!

Interesting quotes:
"When we truly love, it is never lost." - Master Kan

"Our soul does not keep time, it merely records growth." - Master Kan

continuity mishap:
Big blunder!! Caine, sitting to the right of Ancient Warrior during the town council committee, confronts the Sheriff telling him that his risk from the gunman was not so great a risk. But in the next shot with the Sheriff's response, David Carradine forgot to show up for the shoot! Everyone is there except Kwai Chan Caine, yet when the camera gets back to Ancient Warrior, there is Caine, sitting on the right hand side again.
